Educated in Ethnology (lic. phil. I) at the University of Basel, his career path began in 1987 as a consultant to Zintzmeyer & Lux, Zurich. In 1990, Walter Ramstein decided to venture out on his own. As founder, board president and director of brand strategy, text & naming, he ran a renowned branding and corporate identity agency in Basel and Zurich until 2008.
Since 2009, Walter Ramstein has been working as an independent brand coach. His range of experience includes innumerable brand, identity & naming commissions in a variety of industries. Names such as Sympany, Clientis, passabene, ChainIQ, Synpulse, and others bear his signature.
